Today we are very happy to to invite senior ID designer of Infinix Note5s, Zhan Haibo, to tell you about the design story behind the ID and structure aspects of Infinix Note5s. [p]Editor: Hello, engineer Zhan, about ID and structure of Infinix Note5s, which part do you think is the brightest design? [p]Zhan Haibo: If you want to mention the design of Infinix Note5stylus, it probably goes back to its last generation product, Infinix Note 4. On Infinix Note 4, we tried for the first time to add a pen (hand writeable) design to the mobile phone. At that time, the idea of inserting pen design in the mobile phone body was restricted by the internal circuit board, space and technology. So I think Note5s can conquer the issue of pen insertion in the body of the mobile phone, which is a breakthrough against the last generation product, and is also the most eye-catching part of the design of current product.[p]Editor: Why do you want the design of inserting a pen into the mobile phone body? [p]Zhan Haibo: To be more portable. And such a design can enhance the user's experience, and makes the whole mobile phone look more beautiful and more business stylish. [p]Editor: What attempts have we made to insert the pen into the mobile phone body? [p]Zhan Haibo: To achieve this, our ID team has done a lot of design work and interactive effect work, making it a cross bar on the side of the phone by point-to-point connections, realizing the built-in pen by popping up, and then the user can pull out the pen to record and write, as previously said due to the circuit board and limited space and in order to ensure the premise of beautiful, such a seemingly simple function is actually very, very difficult to achieve. [p]Editor: What are the difficulties that we encountered when we did such a mechanism of a collision followed by a rebound? [p]Zhan Haibo: This probably starts with the previous generation product, which is mainly due to the material supplier’s technology and ability inability to meet standards, and we gave the design and structure too sophisticated, as a result, suppliers cannot give the material to achieve one single press effectively ejecting the pen. The suppliers can only provide materials to achieve 4 or 5 times per 10 presses, and then we changed the design to add a buckle to the side of the pen, but this design actually reduces the user's feeling experience. So subsequently we found one Japanese supplier upon the pen press function, whose abrasives is very precise. It is also supplying Samsung handwriting pens. After replacing the supplier, we carried out more sophisticated design and iteration again and ultimately achieved the perfect insert and click function. [p]Editor: In addition to the above difficulties, what other details do we seem to have small but high gold content? [p]Zhan Haibo: In fact, there are so many, among which this generation of pen insertion ID design is not only simply to insert the pen into the phone body, in fact, the pen Jack has a charging pile, including scratch prevention of some fine design, as well as some anti-interactive design. For example, some users may have the tail of the pen plugged into the hole in the phone. In order to prevent the structure of the sticking point will stick the tail of the pen, we made anti-interactive design to prevent anti-insertion stuck. [p]Zhan Haibo: In fact, in the previous design work, the concept version of the pen design is very avant-garde, but because of structural problems and process implementation problems cannot be achieved, we spent 5 months to change the structure and design drawings 58 times, and the outcomes are that the final presentation of the Note 5S fuselage pen function is only to let the user have the feeling experience of writing with a pen and make this mobile phone more business-friendly and provide users with value beyond the hardware.
